Good Guys Ltd takes data privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how we collect, share and use Personal Information, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. This privacy statement is in accordance with the provisions of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation and national legislation as well as an information document for data subjects. The use of cookies is explained more accurately in a separate pop-up window.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?
Data protection law in the European Union requires a lawful basis for collecting and retaining personal data from citizens or residents of the European Economic Area. These lawful bases include:
1. Performing a contract between Good Guys Ltd and customer
2. Legal compliance with laws and regulations
3. Legitimate interests ie for running a business, in a way that does not materially impact our customer’s right, freedom or interest.
Personal data stored at Good Guys Ltd is used for managing the relationships with customers. The collected data may be used for digital marketing purposes and possible future customer satisfaction surveys pursuant to applicable laws. With the permission of our client, we may send emails about our store, new products and other updates.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
The following data may be processed by Good Guys Ltd:
a) customer name, e-mail address(es), telephone number(s) and mailing address(es).
b) information related to the customer relationship, such as date of becoming a Good Guys Ltd web shop customer or mailing list subscriber, as well as direct marketing permissions and prohibitions
c) information related to purchases and other communication. This includes services and campaigns directed at and offered to the customer and measures related to the customer relationship as well as purchases made in Good Guys Ltd stores (ie. dates of the purchases and products purchased, number and price of the products purchased and the total sum of purchases).
REGULAR SOURCES OF INFORMATION
Most of the basic information is collected from the data subjects themselves at the beginning of and during the customer relationship. When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to us collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
Additional data (ie.purchase history) may be added to the register later by Good Guys Ltd customer register administrator.

PROTECTION OF DATA DURING TRANSFER
Good Guys Ltd may disclose personal data within the limitations imposed by effective legislation as follows:
a) on the basis of a data subject’s consent
b) to authorized third parties to the extent they participate in the fulfilling of the agreement between Good Guys Ltd and the customer. Good Guys Ltd obliges third parties to keep confidential all personal data disclosed to them and to secure such personal data in an adequate manner
c) on the basis of mandatory legislation.
Disclosures and transfers outside of the European Economic Area:
a) Good Guys Ltd may transfer personal data outside of the European Economic Area
b) for the purpose of fulfilling its obligations, Good Guys Ltd may transfer customer personal data to internal or external recipients. The recipients may be in countries offering different levels of personal data protection. For technical and practical reasons relating to usage, data may be stored on servers of third-party service providers used by Good Guys Ltd, or such third-party service providers may process data on behalf of Good Guys Ltd.
RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECTS
Data subjects are, within the limitations imposed by applicable law, entitled to
a) check what data Good Guys Ltd has collected of them
b) demand that any incorrect, useless, incomplete or outdated information be corrected or removed
c) prohibit Good Guys Ltd from processing their personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, market research and opinion polls
d) request a downloadable copy of their personal data
e) request deletion of customer account – Good Guys Ltd may retain certain information as required by law or as necessary for legitimate business purposes

RETENTION
Use of the data within the Data Controller’s organisation has been instructed to those who have access to personal data. Access to the personal data file is restricted so that access to the information stored in the system and the right to use that information is only vested in those employees of the Data Controller who have such right on the basis of their work assignments. The data processing system has a strict inbuilt access control that prevents outsiders from getting access to the private data of registered users. Access to the system requires that each user of the register enters a user ID and password. The data is not in paper format.
Good Guys Ltd will retain customer information as long as the customer account is active in order to provide the customer with the services or otherwise set forth in this Policy. Good Guys Ltd will also retain and use this information as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and protect the rights of Good Guys Ltd.
SECURITY
In order to protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
COOKIES
Here is a list of cookies that we use. We’ve listed them here so that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.
_session_id / a unique token, session based, allows Shopify to store information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc).
_shopify_visit / no data held, retains for 30 minutes from the last visit, used by our website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits
_shopify_uniq / no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.
Cart / unique token, retention for 2 weeks, stores information about the contents of your cart.
_secure_session_id / unique token, session based
Storefront_digest / unique token, indefinite. If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.
Cookies provided by our third party services, such as Google Analytics, also transfer and store information on the servers of these service providers. Google Analytics helps us understand how you use our site, how we could improve your experience and our communication with you. More information about Google Analytics cookies can be found here.
If you wish, you may block cookies in your browser settings for our website or completely. You can also delete the existing cookies files on your computer at any time. See your browser’s Help-section for further instructions on how to do this. Note that blocking the cookies might affect the functionality of websites.
You can also opt out of Google’s advertising tracking cookie or use a browser plugin to opt out of all Google Analytics tracking software.
LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES AND SERVICES
When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
DATA PROTECTION AUTHORITY
Subject to applicable law, if customer is a citizen or resident of the European Economic Area, they also have the right to:
a) object to Good Guys Ltd use of their personal information, and
b) lodge a complaint with the local data protection authority or the European Union Information Commissioner’s Office.
DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
SHOPIFY
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment: If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
